Ruby Rae’s XL – Newcastle Indoor Country Festival comes to Times Square on Friday 23 October 2026, with six tribute acts, line dancing and a Nashville-inspired indoor festival running from 5pm to 11pm. The Ruby Rae’s team is taking its regular country nights outdoors to the Times Square site, but the show itself will be held inside a specially created marquee.

The 1,500-capacity event brings together performers paying tribute to several of country music’s biggest names. Fans can expect a packed evening of live music alongside dancing, BBQ food and country merchandise, with Ruby Rae’s founders Dean Saunders and Dan Cooke working alongside EVNT Inspirations to bring the event to Newcastle.
Who’s playing Ruby Rae’s XL in Newcastle?
The six-act line-up includes The Ella Langley Experience, Zachbryanuktribute, The Lainey Wilson Experience Tribute and Almostwallen, each appearing with their touring bands. They’ll be joined by Tia Dodds performing a Shania Twain tribute and Jo Fry taking on the role of Dolly Parton.
That means the bill ranges from tributes to current country favourites to the familiar songs associated with two of the genre’s best-known performers. Rather than a single headline concert, Ruby Rae’s XL is built around a whole evening of tribute performances, giving fans plenty of time to enjoy the music and join in with the dancing.
Line dancing, BBQ and Nashville-inspired entertainment
The Times Square site will be transformed with Nashville-inspired décor for the occasion. In addition to the live acts, the organisers have announced line dancing, Tennessee-style BBQ food, drinks and country music merchandise. A purpose-built marquee will house the indoor festival, so this is a larger-scale take on the experience Ruby Rae’s puts on at its Newcastle bar.
Ruby Rae’s co-owners Dean Saunders and Dan Cooke have joined forces with EVNT Inspirations co-director Nigel Holliday and his team for the event. Saunders described the festival as an XL version of their weekly Newcastle country music offering. Meanwhile, Holliday said he was looking forward to bringing together 1,500 people for a night of line dancing.
Ruby Rae’s XL takes place at Times Square, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 4EP, on Friday 23 October 2026, from 5pm until 11pm. The ticket listing states that admission is for ages 18 and over, with last entry at 8pm. Check the organiser and ticketing channels for any updates before travelling.
