Single Review: Gwailo ‘You Got It’
Sam Heppenstall reviews Gwailo’s ‘You Got It’, a classic rock-inspired single packed with heavy guitars, huge drums and an irresistible hook.
Echoing back to the days of classic rock ’n’ roll, Gwailo have released their new song ‘You Got It’.
This song has me stomping my feet through the puddles on my way to work. It makes me want to scream and shout the hook, “YOU GOT IT”, over and over. Complete with massive drums and some fantastic heavy guitars, this song is bound to get people up and moving.
I’m a big fan of the music video too. Shot by Sam Taylor at Sunderland University, it’s essentially just the band performing the song in a live setting, but with some great costume changes that take place as the song evolves.
I have to say, I haven’t heard much about this band in the lead-up to this release, but I’ve gone back and listened to some of their previous work – songs such as ‘Rock n Roll Seduction’ and ‘Try Me’. These songs very much display the same trademarks of what make ‘You Got It’ so catchy: huge drums, amazing guitar and vocals that are filled to the brim with energy.
I really, really like this track. Give it a spin.
