The Newcastle show gives North East audiences an early chance to catch Wyatt following the release of their first single. Morning introduces the band with jangly college-rock guitars, slacker-country touches and a deliberately immediate feel.
The track came together quickly after a gig where the band’s guitar amp broke, followed by a stay in an unusual bunk-bed B&B. Wyatt took the initial idea into rehearsal the following week and had effectively completed the song by the end of the session.
“Morning is a song that feels like Wyatt to us.”

The single also marks the quartet’s arrival on Heist or Hit, the label behind Westside Cowboy and the late Her’s. Wyatt recorded the track with Alex Greaves at The Nave, whose credits include Theatre, Gurriers and Yard Act.
Despite Morning being their debut release, Wyatt already have plenty of live experience. They have toured with Greg Freeman and TTSSFU and played alongside acts including Divorce, Little Grandad, Dove Ellis, Case Oats, 1000 Rabbits, Brown Horse, Frog and Renny Conti.
The band consists of Harvey O’Toole on guitar and vocals, Evan O’Toole on bass and vocals, Emily Mason on trumpet, acoustic guitar and vocals, and Joe Ward on drums.
Before reaching Newcastle, Wyatt’s run with Westside Cowboy travels through the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Czech Republic, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium and France. The UK leg then opens at St Luke’s in Glasgow on 24 November before the bands arrive on Tyneside the following night.
