Carousel are a two-piece noise-rock band from Newcastle upon Tyne, combining grunge, shoegaze and heavy alternative rock with a deliberately abrasive live sound.
The duo formed in late 2023 and quickly became active across the North East grassroots circuit. Their music draws on influences including The Melvins, Slint, Unsane and Kerbdog, moving between distorted aggression and more hypnotic guitar textures.
Carousel released the live set Live at Little Buildings in April 2025, recorded at a Newcastle charity show, before following it with their debut album There You Go in February 2026. Tracks including “Reflection”, “Threads” and “Deflect” show the range between noise rock, grunge and shoegaze in their sound.
