Hector Gannet is the North Shields music project led by singer-songwriter Aaron Duff, performed both solo and with a full band. The songs are closely tied to the North East coast, local history, landscape and community, giving the project a sense of place that runs much deeper than a hometown reference.

Releases including Big Harcar, Into The Deep and The Land Belongs To Us explore that relationship with the coast from different angles, while later singles such as Seven Signs have continued to develop Duff’s atmospheric folk-rock songwriting. The music often feels expansive without losing the intimacy of the stories underneath it.

Hector Gannet have become a familiar part of the North East live scene while also playing further afield. A November 2026 show at The Glasshouse in Gateshead gives the project another major regional date, bringing songs shaped by the North East coastline to one of its biggest concert stages.
