Carousel

September 9, 2026

Carousel are a Newcastle two-piece noise-rock band whose sound pulls together grunge, shoegaze and heavy alternative rock. The duo formed in late 2023 and quickly became active across the North East grassroots circuit, building a deliberately abrasive live sound around distorted guitars, dynamics and repetition.

Their influences include The Melvins, Slint, Unsane and Kerbdog, which helps explain the way their music can move from blunt, heavy impact into more hypnotic and textured passages. That contrast is a big part of what keeps Carousel from becoming a one-note noise project.

The live release Live at Little Buildings arrived in April 2025 after being recorded at a Newcastle charity show. Debut album There You Go followed in February 2026, with tracks including Reflection, Threads and Deflect showing the range between noise rock, grunge and shoegaze in the duo’s sound.
