Tom A. Smith expands ‘Put On A Record Tommy’ with deluxe EP
Sunderland artist Tom A. Smith expands Put On A Record Tommy into a 12-track deluxe EP, led by Dance Floor Magic (Groove Wizard).

Tom A. Smith’s Put On A Record Tommy deluxe EP is out now through Fiction Records, expanding the Sunderland artist’s recent release into a 12-track collection.
The deluxe edition arrives with the brilliantly theatrical “Dance Floor Magic (Groove Wizard)” as its focus track. It also opens the doors to Tommy’s Dance Place one final time, bringing together the wider run of songs connected to this chapter of Smith’s work.

The expanded release gives listeners a fuller version of the project, while “Dance Floor Magic (Groove Wizard)” leans into the energy and character that have become central to Smith’s live performances.
Raised in Houghton-le-Spring, Smith has spent years building his reputation across North East grassroots venues before taking his music to national stages. His live CV already includes Glastonbury, BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend and support slots with Sam Fender, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Miles Kane and Elton John.
That experience has fed into a sound that balances direct guitar music with increasingly textured production. The deluxe version of Put On A Record Tommy continues that development while giving the original EP more room to breathe as a complete collection.
A new chapter for the Sunderland artist
The release follows a busy period for Smith after signing with Fiction Records and taking his headline shows around the UK. His growing catalogue continues to place a strong emphasis on immediacy, personality and the connection between the studio recordings and the live set.
