Citrus are an emerging North East funk-fusion band building their live identity around rhythm, groove and ensemble playing. Their current activity places them firmly in Newcastle’s grassroots scene, where mixed bills give the band room to reach audiences beyond one narrow genre.
An October 2026 appearance at Pilgrim pairs Citrus with Lagos to Longbenton for a local funk-fusion double bill. The show brings together two developing Newcastle-connected acts with different approaches to groove-led music, giving Citrus a useful platform to show how their sound works in a full live setting.
At this stage, the clearest way to follow Citrus is through those regional performances. The band are still developing their recorded story, but the live circuit is already giving them space to build a recognisable identity of their own.
