Zeta Point and County Durham electronic music
Zeta Point are an experimental electronic power-pop act from County Durham, formed in 2024 by Jacob Elliott. The project combines darkwave, dreampop and trip-hop, bringing those textures into a more direct pop framework.
That mix gives Zeta Point a place between electronic production and alternative songwriting. Rather than staying inside one genre, the music moves through darker synth-led ideas, dreamier atmosphere and rhythmic influences associated with trip-hop. The result is a North East project that feels deliberately hard to reduce to a single tag.
Zeta Point live in the North East
Zeta Point have been selected for The Forum Music Centre’s Live and Local series in Darlington, a monthly night focused on North East artists and bands. Their October 2026 appearance places the project alongside Suspirium and Pretentious, creating a bill that moves between alternative rock and electronic music while keeping the focus on regional artists.
The project’s official Linktree also points listeners towards current releases, Bandcamp and live dates, showing that Zeta Point are building both a recorded catalogue and a regional live presence at the same time. That balance matters for an emerging act, because it gives new listeners more than one route into the music.
For SoundBite North East, Zeta Point are worth following because they add another angle to County Durham’s current music scene. The combination of darkwave, dreampop, trip-hop and power-pop gives the project a distinctive identity, while the Live and Local booking provides a clear connection to the grassroots circuit around Darlington and the wider North East.
