The Main Line are a Darlington rhythm and blues band built around a love of the raw British R&B sound associated with acts such as Dr Feelgood and The Pirates. Their music keeps the emphasis on sharp guitar work, rock-and-roll momentum and the kind of direct performance that makes most sense in a live room.
The debut album Cobalt Blue arrived in 2024 and helped push the band beyond the local circuit, including time on the Independent Blues Broadcasters Association chart. In 2026 they return to The Forum Music Centre in Darlington for the launch of Men Of A Certain Age, another record that keeps their original material at the centre.
Support slots with The James Oliver Band and The Ramblin’ Preachers, along with regular appearances around Darlington and the wider North East, have made The Main Line a familiar name on the regional blues circuit. Their identity is closely tied to those live rooms, where the rougher edges of the music are an advantage rather than something to polish away.
