Heidi Curtis Announces Summon EP and Shares New Single Ahead of Sold-Out Newcastle Show
Newcastle artist Heidi Curtis announces her Summon EP for 20 November via AWAL and releases its title-track ahead of a sold-out show at The Grove.
Newcastle singer-songwriter Heidi Curtis has announced her new EP Summon, due for release on 20 November 2026 via AWAL. The announcement arrives alongside the EP’s title-track, ‘Summon’, released today, 24 September, after Craig Charles premiered it on BBC Radio 6 Music the previous evening.
The new single follows a busy summer for Curtis, who has appeared on bills with Florence + The Machine, Lewis Capaldi, Self Esteem, Mumford & Sons, The War On Drugs, Rachel Chinouriri and Wunderhorse. Earlier this year, she also joined Holly Humberstone on tour. Now, Curtis is preparing to take her own songs around the UK and Ireland on a debut headline run that includes a sold-out homecoming show in Newcastle.
Heidi Curtis shares ‘Summon’ ahead of November EP
‘Summon’ brings a more expansive, euphoric sound to Curtis’s songwriting. The track is built around the kind of soaring vocal and defiant energy that has marked her recent live appearances, while its message focuses on finding the confidence to take up space.
Explaining the inspiration behind the song, Curtis calls ‘Summon’ “a totem of strength and resilience”. She says writing it helped her confront the occasions when she had questioned her own power as a woman working in music. For her, creating the track meant rediscovering that strength and embracing the freedom to make music that feels fierce and unapologetic.
The forthcoming EP is released through AWAL on 20 November. Curtis’s recent work has attracted coverage from music publications including NME, DIY, Rolling Stone UK and Dork, while BBC Introducing and BBC Radio 6 Music have supported her releases. ‘Summon’ is available now on digital platforms.
Sold-out Newcastle headline show at The Grove
Curtis will bring her debut headline tour to The Grove, Newcastle, on Wednesday 21 October 2026. The home-city date is sold out, with doors listed for 7pm. The run also takes in Dublin, Limerick, Belfast, Manchester, London and Leeds before Newcastle.
It will be a chance for audiences who have seen Curtis on support bills throughout the summer to catch her performing her own headline set. The show comes a month before Summon arrives, so the new release adds another chapter to an already busy autumn.
