A Stone’s Throw Festival has today revealed the first thrilling wave of acts for their fourth and biggest event to date, taking place on Saturday May 23rd 2026 within the musical hotbed of North Shields on Newcastle’s stunning, picturesque coastline.
Co-headlined by dark-pop sensation Luvcat and Manchester indie-electronic juggernauts Working Men’s Club, the summer lineup also includes Belfast risers Chalk, Welsh upstarts (and special guests) Panic Shack, thrilling singer-songwriter Gia Ford, alt-newcomer Imogen and the Knife, and North Shields’ very own Hector Gannet, alongside a selection of the region’s finest emerging talent.
Debuting in 2022, A Stone’s Throw’s first three memorable events have featured 150+ artists, swarming Newcastle’s coastline and forming the first North East coastal music trail between Tynemouth and North Shields, with the likes of Shame, The Horrors, White Lies, Lanterns On The Lake, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Pip Blom, Katy J Pearson, Berwyn, Man/Woman/Chainsaw and Heidi Curtis all on the bill. Transforming coffee shops, event warehouses, CBD dispensaries, and working men’s clubs into fully fledged music venues for the day, the festival also collaborated with Go North East and North Tyneside Council to provide an open top double decker bus service, transporting wristband holders from venue to venue, whilst live brass bands performed on the upper deck.
Taking place across North Shields for a second consecutive year, the full-day, multi-venue celebration of new music will once again partner with the Go North East bus service (included in the ticket price), running a quick service between the 5 participating venues The Exchange 1856, King Street Social Club, Salt Market Social, Three Tanners Bank and The Engine Room, providing another refreshing, unique and memorable music festival experience for all attendees.
Detailing their first major lineup announcement (with more additions coming soon), founder Anthony Thompson (Notion Live Events) stated: “With huge excitement, we announce the wave one lineup for A Stone’s Throw Festival – Edition Four. It’s a real privilege to continue building this festival and to welcome such a bold, exciting mix of artists to one of the most distinctive coastal settings in the UK. In true AST fashion, we’ll once again be taking over a flurry of unique spaces across the North Shields coastline, with the AST bus returning to ferry audiences between stages throughout the day. This festival is rooted in place, community and discovery – and 2026 is shaping up to be another smash hit. We can’t wait for May 23rd and to deliver another unforgettable day for North Shields and beyond.”
Speaking ahead of their upcoming festival slot, Chalk added: “We can’t wait to play A Stone’s Throw Festival. It’s our first time back in the North East since Twisterella. We’ll be coming with new music from our debut album and looking forward to bringing it to the stage.”
Performing at this year’s fourth edition will be Luvcat, Working Men’s Club, Chalk, Panic Shack, Chartreuse, Gia Ford, Hector Gannet, Imogen and the Knife, lots of hands, Beattie, Better Joy, Burnout, Central Arcade, City Parking, Faeda, Formal Sppeedwear, House Proud, Nothing Rhymes With Orange, Smith & Liddle, spacecadetbloom, The Rooks, Tidetied, Tough Cookie, WRKHOUSE, and more.
