Pit Pony are a Newcastle upon Tyne five-piece whose guitar-heavy sound moves between indie rock, post-punk, garage rock and noisier alternative edges. The band keep melody close to the surface while giving the guitars and rhythm section plenty of weight, making the songs feel immediate without becoming one-dimensional.
Their 2022 album World To Me established the band beyond the North East, while later releases including Dead Stars, Vacancy and 2026 single Thunder have continued to develop that sound. The strongest material balances abrasion with hooks rather than choosing one side over the other.
Newcastle’s independent scene remains central to Pit Pony, with regular North East appearances sitting alongside wider UK touring. Their songs are built for small rooms, where the direct live approach and heavier end of the catalogue can come through most clearly.
