Dutty Moonshine Big Band Boiler Shop brings one of the UK’s most unusual independent live projects to Newcastle on Friday 16 October 2026, with TANKUS joining them for a 7pm start. The date forms part of the Second Distillation Tour, which pushes the group’s blend of electronic production, live brass, jazz, hip hop and bass music into its biggest headline rooms yet.

The Second Distillation Tour is taking Dutty Moonshine Big Band into their biggest headline venues to date with upgraded production and brand new music.

That is a meaningful step for a project that has largely operated outside the traditional music-industry route. What began as an experiment in 2015 has developed into sold-out headline tours, major festival appearances and two albums that have appeared across multiple UK charts. The band’s appeal has always come from treating electronic music as something that can be physically rebuilt on stage rather than simply reproduced.

The Boiler Shop date should suit that approach particularly well. The venue has enough floor space for the bass-heavy side of the show to land properly, but it still feels close enough for the live horn arrangements, vocals and rhythmic interplay to remain visible rather than disappearing into a huge production.

TANKUS join the Newcastle bill, adding another live act before the headline set. The pairing keeps the emphasis on performance and movement, which makes sense for a tour built around making an already large ensemble feel even more expansive.
