Aelius Alternative Festival – Festival Guide

Aelius Alternative Festival is a Newcastle grassroots multi-venue festival supporting emerging artists and the region’s independent music scene. This evergreen SoundBite guide tracks dates, participating venues, line-up announcements, tickets and our latest Aelius coverage.

About Aelius Alternative Festival

Aelius Alternative Festival is a Newcastle grassroots music festival built around emerging artists, independent venues and the wider North East music community. The festival has developed as a multi-venue event, using independent spaces to give audiences a route through different corners of Newcastle’s grassroots scene. Previous editions have involved venues including Head of Steam, The Globe and Mosaic Tap, while the organisers have also worked with music and wellbeing organisations and regional creative partners. Alongside the live programme, Aelius is designed to give developing artists useful exposure, connections and opportunities beyond a single performance. For listeners, that makes the festival a good place to discover North East acts alongside artists who may be appearing in Newcastle for the first time.
