André Rieu Returns to Utilita Arena Newcastle in October 2027

André Rieu is returning to Newcastle for an arena concert with his 60-piece Johann Strauss Orchestra on Thursday 7 October 2027, bringing his unmistakable mix of waltzes, classical favourites and showmanship to Utilita Arena.

The Dutch violinist and conductor, known around the world as the “Waltz King”, will play nine concerts across the UK and Ireland in September and October 2027. Newcastle is among the final dates, between shows in Birmingham and Liverpool.

What to expect from André Rieu in Newcastle

Rieu’s concerts blend orchestral music with music from opera, musicals and film, as well as the waltzes for which he is best known. Rather than a formal classical recital, his performances are staged as large-scale evening productions, with lighting, elaborate costumes, humour and moments when the audience joins in.

He founded the Johann Strauss Orchestra in 1987. The ensemble now features musicians and soloists from more than 18 countries, and travels with a dedicated stage and production team.

Having sold more than 40 million albums worldwide, Rieu has attracted audiences far beyond the traditional classical music circuit. For Newcastle concertgoers, the October date offers an opportunity to see the full touring production at the city’s arena.
