Glasvegas Bring Airy Fairy Tour to Digital Newcastle on 7 May 2027
Glasvegas play Digital Newcastle on Friday 7 May 2027 on their Airy Fairy UK tour. Doors 7pm, tickets and album details.
Glasvegas have returned with the euphoric, distorted rush of new single ‘Degüello’ and news of their first album in six years, Airy Fairy. Better still for fans in the North East, they’ve announced a rare headline show at Digital in Newcastle on Friday 7 May 2027.
Table Of Content
It’s almost two decades since the Scottish band released their self-titled debut in 2008, an album that brought ‘Geraldine’, ‘Daddy’s Gone’ and ‘Flowers & Football Tops’ into the spotlight. Their emotional, heavily distorted sound still stands apart, and ‘Degüello’ suggests they’ve lost none of that intensity.
Airy Fairy, the band’s fifth album, arrives on Friday 2 April 2027 through Modern Sky UK. James Allan recorded the album in Airdrie alongside founding members Rab Allan and Paul Donoghue, producing it himself.
Glasvegas have been selective about live appearances in recent years, with major festivals among their performances since the end of their European 15th-anniversary tour in 2023. That makes the Newcastle date particularly welcome, especially in a venue the size of Digital.
The Newcastle show is the second stop on the 11-date Airy Fairy UK and Ireland tour, following a Glasgow homecoming at the O2 Academy on Saturday 1 May. The run continues through England before four September dates in Belfast, Dublin, Cork and Limerick.
