About North East Calling
North East Calling is a Newcastle punk and alternative music festival bringing established names and newer acts together for an all-day regional bill. Previous editions at Northumbria University have featured bands including Cockney Rejects, GBH, Peter & The Test Tube Babies, Random Hand, The Meffs and Dirt Box Disco, reflecting the festival’s strong punk identity while leaving room for newer voices. Its city-centre setting makes it a straightforward day festival rather than a camping event. This evergreen SoundBite guide will follow future dates, line-up announcements, venue details, tickets and related punk coverage.
