Review: Polyvinyl ‘Bad Dreams Radio Edit’ & Video

Babe, wake up! New Polyvinyl just dropped!! Well, kind of. 

Polyvinyl last week released a radio edit of their most popular track “Bad Dream” accompanied by a very late 90’s music video which I enjoyed very much. This was part four of five of their “where it ends” short film project – go check it out on YouTube! 

Let’s talk about the song though, it was released as part of their “Where it ends” EP which came out earlier this year. It starts off with some dreamy, chorus heavy guitar before the beat fully kicks in, then the melodic hook lures you in. 

“Fade to obscurity, an apparition I can’t see” is my favourite lyric in this track – heavy and intentionally ambiguous to leave the subject matter open to interpretation. 

The ending is massive! A mega vocal performance from the lead singer Annabelle gives it so much energy that it’s difficult to keep still. 

This song has really grown on me over the time it’s been out. I find it rattling around in my head sometimes when I’m just going about my day. I bet it gets stuck in yours too.
