Alf Hill is a Newcastle singer-songwriter building his own corner of the North East indie scene through original material and a busy live schedule. His music leans towards indie and indie rock with an acoustic foundation, drawing on influences including Paul Weller, Gerry Cinnamon and Stereophonics without losing sight of his own developing voice.
Tracks such as Like A Stone have helped introduce Hill to a wider audience, while BBC Introducing airplay and support from Sunday for Sammy have given the project useful early momentum. A grant from the latter helped him record and release a second EP, adding more substance to a catalogue that is growing alongside his live experience.
Newcastle remains firmly at the centre of the story, with appearances across the North East and support slots including Liam Fender. Festival and showcase dates, including Under The Radar at Think Tank, have helped Hill move beyond acoustic covers into a clearer identity built around his own songs.
