The Revolutionaires are a Newcastle-based rhythm and blues band rooted in the North East live circuit. Their set draws on 1940s and 1950s R&B, rock and roll and blues, with the emphasis on energy and movement rather than treating the material as a history lesson.
Influences including Louis Jordan, Little Richard, Chuck Berry and Roy Brown run through the repertoire, but the band push those reference points with a tougher modern-blues edge. That approach has made The Revolutionaires a regular presence at venues and live-music events around the region.
An October 2026 appearance at Pilgrim brings that high-energy vintage R&B sound back into central Newcastle for an afternoon show, another local date for a band whose identity has been shaped as much by the rooms they play as the records they draw from.
