The Alum Ridge Boys & Ashlee head to Cluny 2 on Friday 29 January 2027 for an evening of bluegrass, old-time and country music, presented by The Cluny and Jumpin’ Hot Club.
Table Of Content
The five-piece string band comes from Floyd, Virginia. Their approach draws on the period when those musical traditions shared the same stages, with close vocal harmonies and driving acoustic playing gathered around a single microphone.
A traditional sound in a small room
That single-mic setup puts the emphasis on the blend between the players and their voices. It makes Cluny 2 an appealing setting for listeners who enjoy hearing the detail of a string band at close quarters.
The group has won prizes at Galax, Mount Airy, Clifftop and the Chris Austin Songwriting Contest at MerleFest, alongside appearances at folk and bluegrass festivals internationally.
