The Fratellis Bring Costello Music Anniversary to NX

The Fratellis Newcastle run takes over NX for two nights on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 February 2027, celebrating 20 years of debut album Costello Music. The first night is already sold out, while the second gives Newcastle another chance to catch the anniversary show with The Gulps in support.

The Fratellis Newcastle turns one anniversary show into two

The first NX night has already sold out, so the second date changes this from a single anniversary stop into a full two-night Newcastle run. That is a useful measure of the appetite around Costello Music, an album that remains closely tied to the band’s breakthrough and to a particular moment in mid-2000s British indie.

The anniversary format puts songs such as Chelsea Dagger, Henrietta and Whistle for the Choir back into the context of the album that introduced them. Rather than scattering those tracks through a standard catalogue set, the tour gives the debut record a clear centre of gravity while still leaving room for material from the rest of The Fratellis’ career.

The Gulps are confirmed for both nights, adding another guitar-led act before the headline set. With The View playing NX the night before the first Fratellis show, the venue is effectively hosting three consecutive nights built around Scottish indie music from different generations.

Both Fratellis shows open at 6pm and run until 10pm. The dates are listed as 14+, with under-16s required to attend with an adult. The first night on 26 February is sold out at the time of writing, while tickets remain listed for 27 February.
