The View Bring Hats Off to the Buskers Anniversary to NX

The View Newcastle brings the Dundee band to NX on Thursday 25 February 2027 for the 20th-anniversary tour of debut album Hats Off to the Buskers. Doors are at 7pm, with the show built around the record that introduced The View to a much wider audience in 2007.

The View Newcastle revisits a defining debut album

The NX date is part of the 20th-anniversary tour for Hats Off to the Buskers, placing the album itself at the centre of the night rather than using the anniversary as a loose marketing tag. That gives the Newcastle show a clear structure around the period that produced Same Jeans, Wasted Little DJs and the early songs that established the band’s mix of indie rock, punk energy and pop hooks.

Same Jeans remains the obvious landmark, having reached number three on the UK Singles Chart, but the strength of the anniversary format is the chance to hear the wider album in context. Tracks that may not have stayed in every later setlist can sit alongside the singles, making this more useful for long-time listeners than a conventional greatest-hits night.

The timing also puts Newcastle immediately before a busy weekend of Scottish indie nostalgia at NX, with The Fratellis taking over the same venue on the following two nights. For anyone who came of age around mid-2000s British guitar music, those three dates create an unusually concentrated run.

NX lists the show from 7pm to 11pm. The event is 14+, with under-16s required to attend with an adult. Tickets are currently £30 plus booking fee.
