The Steelers Bring the Music of Steely Dan to The Forum Darlington
The Steelers play the music of Steely Dan at The Forum Darlington on Saturday 21 November 2026. A ten-piece band, seated show, £20 tickets and 8pm start.
The Steelers are bringing the music of Steely Dan to The Forum Music Centre in Darlington on Saturday 21 November 2026, with a ten-piece band taking on some of the most intricate arrangements in jazz-rock.
Rather than simply revisiting the best-known singles, The Steelers draw from albums including Pretzel Logic, The Royal Scam, Aja and Gaucho. Their line-up includes experienced players and vocalists from across the UK, with musicians from the North East among them, and a brass section that helps bring Steely Dan’s layered sound to the stage.
The songs of Donald Fagen and Walter Becker demand a fair bit from the people playing them. There’s plenty going on beneath those deceptively smooth grooves, and this is a gig for anyone who appreciates a band getting stuck into the detail — from the guitars and keys to the brass and harmonies.
The Forum has billed the show as a seated evening, so there’s an opportunity to settle in and listen properly to the arrangements rather than fight for space at the front.
