Cane Rouge are a Newcastle alt-rock trio whose sound pulls together punk urgency, grunge weight and indie grit. Their live reputation has grown around energy and noise, with the compact three-piece setup giving the songs a rawness that suits smaller rooms and festival stages alike.
That mix has made them a natural fit for the North East alternative circuit, where they have built momentum through regular live appearances rather than relying on a heavily polished image. The music feels immediate, with enough looseness around the edges to keep the performances unpredictable.
Aelius Alternative Festival 2026 gave Cane Rouge another prominent Newcastle appearance, placing them alongside a broad cross-section of the region’s independent guitar scene at a point when the band’s live momentum was clearly building.
