Chris Kelly

Chris Kelly is a Newcastle indie-folk singer-songwriter and guitarist whose music turns everyday experience into direct, melodic songs. His writing ranges from heartbreak and mental health to love and celebration, with a warm, rootsy sound shaped by artists including City and Colour, Tom Petty, The Gaslight Anthem and Sam Fender.

His debut EP Letters To You arrived in 2018, followed by singles including When It Rains, Better Days, My Name and Lay Down Love. When It Rains reached the iTunes singer-songwriter Top 100, while the EP helped establish the blend of indie, folk and pop-rock that still runs through his work.

Kelly has taken that material around the UK and into mainland Europe as well as playing regularly across the North East. Live, the songs are carried by voice and guitar first, with the emphasis on storytelling and connection rather than overproduction.
