Clayton Adam is a Sunderland singer-songwriter whose music blends acoustic songwriting with rock, indie, alternative and country-blues influences. His songs are grounded in everyday North East life, with a strong Mackem identity running through the way he writes and sings.
That mix comes through in releases including Chasing the Sun (Acoustic), Time Rolls Away and Love Can Come and Go, before the six-track Mind over Matter EP arrived in March 2026. Across those recordings, Adam keeps the arrangements warm and direct, using melody and storytelling rather than overcomplication to carry the songs.
The result is music that feels deliberately homegrown: reflective without becoming subdued, and personal without losing the broader sense of place behind it. As his catalogue has grown, so has the balance between acoustic intimacy and the bigger rock and country influences around it.
