Dean Parker

Dean Parker is a Newcastle-based songwriter, guitarist, producer and composer whose solo work brings together folk rock, alt-Americana and alternative songwriting. Born and raised in North East England, he spent years working as a guitarist and session musician before putting his own voice and lyrics at the centre.

His solo catalogue includes the 2022 EP This All Tastes Like Yesterday and 2024 follow-up Is this Learning?, with songs such as The Death Of A Certain Kind Of Life, Head, Yes Love, Forever, Clean and Cheap Wine. Richard E. Grant also contributed spoken word to Reprise, adding another distinctive detail to a record built around uncertainty, relationships and trying to make sense of adult life.

Parker’s work has taken him from North East venues to dates in Austin and Memphis, while his wider musical life includes production, guitar sessions and music education. That experience shows in arrangements that are carefully put together without becoming overly polished, leaving enough roughness around the edges for the songs to keep their character.
