Detonata

Detonata are a five-piece hard-rock band from Stockton-on-Tees, part of the current wave of guitar bands coming through Teesside’s grassroots scene. Their music sits between hard rock, alternative rock and metal, built around heavy riffs, punchy rhythms and enough melody to keep the songs accessible without losing their weight.

The band’s approach is deliberately direct, favouring impact over overcomplication. That makes them a natural fit for mixed bills where hard rock, metal and alternative acts share the same stage, while a steady run of new material has helped the group develop a clearer identity beyond the live set.

Stockton remains the band’s home base, but their activity has taken them across the wider region, including Newcastle appearances at venues such as The Globe. That movement between Teesside and Tyneside has helped Detonata grow as a North East live band rather than one tied to a single local circuit.
