Driven Serious

Driven Serious are a North East punk-folk band who have been gigging across the region and further afield since 2011. Their sound brings folk instrumentation together with the drive and urgency of punk and rock, giving the songs a rough-edged energy without losing the storytelling underneath.

The band’s releases include the 2013 album The Importance of Being Serious, the Ballad of Bones EP and 2022 album Look On These Works. Across those records, acoustic textures and roots influences sit alongside louder arrangements that make the material feel built for a busy live room.

Driven Serious have a long-established connection to the North East live scene, including headline performances in Newcastle and Middlesbrough. Their current dates include a November 2026 show at The Cumberland Arms in Newcastle, a natural setting for a band whose identity has always been closely tied to grassroots venues and folk-punk audiences.
