End Credits are a North East psych-alt-rock three-piece built around frontman Cameron Young, bassist Blaise Pickering and drummer/producer Eddy Mason Pooley. The band originally formed in 2018 while the members were still at school, first working under the name WhiteNoise before adopting End Credits in 2023 after a trademark issue forced a change. What stayed consistent was the music: a restless mix of indie, post-punk, psychedelia, funk and heavier rock that never sits neatly in one box.

The trio’s sound works because those influences are used as colours rather than rules. Guitar-driven sections can quickly open into more atmospheric passages, while the rhythm section often brings a darker, more physical feel underneath the melodies. Their official artist description has compared the result to a meeting point between Jim Morrison, Tame Impala and the drummer from Tool, which gives a fair sense of the band’s ambition even if their strongest moments come when those reference points blur into something less predictable.

From The Traveller to a broader sound

The band’s debut album, The Traveller, arrived in 2022 and established their interest in moving between genres. Since then, singles including Forsythia, Outsiders, I Need Time, Twisted Form of Romance, Angels Only Pick Sunflowers and When Push Comes to Shove have continued that evolution. I Need Time is a useful example, combining an indie core with post-punk, funk and psychedelic elements before shifting into a chorus driven by an old-school house-inspired rhythm.

That willingness to change shape from song to song has helped End Credits stand out on mixed regional bills. Their music can carry enough energy for rock audiences while still appealing to listeners interested in more experimental or groove-led alternative music.

The band have built their audience through consistent North East activity, with appearances at Stockton Calling, Last Train Home, Gathering Sounds and Soundwave among other events. Along the way, they have shared bills with acts including Kaiser Chiefs, Feeder, Circa Waves and The View, while BBC Introducing support has helped widen the audience for their recorded material.
