Red Remedy

Red Remedy are a five-piece nu-gaze band from Sunderland, blending grunge grit, shoegaze atmosphere and nu-metal weight into a sound that feels heavy without losing its sense of space. Fronted by Syren Jensen, the group grew out of Sunderland’s DIY music scene, where the members built up experience before bringing the project together.

Releases including Stockholm, Hollow Cage and 2026 single The Line show the band balancing thick guitar textures with melodic vocals and a darker emotional edge. BBC Introducing support has helped widen their audience while keeping the music closely connected to the North East alternative circuit.

Live dates have taken Red Remedy from Independent in Sunderland to The Cluny and Think Tank in Newcastle, Ku Bar in Stockton and other grassroots venues around the region. Sunderland remains central to the band’s identity, both in where they came from and in the scene that continues to shape their development.
