WRETCH

WRETCH are a three-piece alt-rock band from Newcastle upon Tyne who emerged in 2024 with a heavier take on the city’s grassroots guitar scene. Their music is built around a compact trio sound, giving the riffs and rhythm section plenty of space to hit without overloading the arrangements.

Since forming, the band have developed through regular North East live shows and local festival appearances. That steady run of gigs has helped WRETCH sharpen both their stage presence and the more direct side of their songwriting, with live energy remaining an important part of the project.

Newcastle is central to the band’s identity, and their growing presence on regional bills reflects a group still early in its story but already building through consistent activity rather than a single breakout moment.
