Big Country Bring The Seer Anniversary Tour to Wylam
Big Country Redux bring The Seer 40th anniversary tour to Wylam Brewery Newcastle on 6 December 2026 alongside the new Eastworld album.

Big Country Newcastle comes to Wylam Brewery on Sunday 6 December 2026 as Bruce Watson and the current Big Country Redux line-up mark 40 years of The Seer. Doors open at 7pm for the 18+ show, with the Newcastle date forming part of a UK run built around the band’s third album and a fresh chapter in its catalogue.
Big Country Newcastle connects The Seer with Eastworld
The anniversary gives the tour an obvious historical focus, but this is not simply a look backwards. The Newcastle show arrives in the same year as Eastworld, a new album built from ten Stuart Adamson-era songs that were never fully developed at the time. The record places unfinished ideas from the band’s history alongside musicians continuing the story in 2026.
The Seer originally arrived in 1986 and included Look Away, one of Big Country’s biggest UK singles, while the title track featured Kate Bush. Four decades later, revisiting the album has extra resonance because 2026 also marks 25 years since Adamson’s death.
Watson has described continuing the music as a responsibility as well as a labour of love. The current Redux line-up includes Bruce Watson on guitar and vocals, Jamie Watson on guitar and vocals, Tommie Paxton on vocals and guitar, Chris Stones on bass and Reece Dobbin on drums.
That makes the Wylam date an interesting meeting point between preservation and continuation. The anniversary material carries the weight of a record many listeners know closely, while Eastworld gives the band something newly recorded to place beside it rather than relying only on a heritage set.
The Palace of Arts should also work well for Big Country’s widescreen guitar sound. It offers enough room for the anthemic side of the catalogue to land properly while remaining more intimate than an arena or large theatre.
