KNOWTFEST Brings Five Tribute Acts to NUSU

KNOWTFEST Newcastle lands at Newcastle University Students’ Union on Saturday 3 October 2026 with five tribute acts taking on some of modern metal’s biggest names. Doors are at 5pm, giving the night a proper festival-style run rather than squeezing everything into a standard evening slot.

The bill brings together Slipknowt, Self Revolution, Ghost UK, Eleventh Hour and Machine Heed. Between them, the acts cover material associated with Slipknot, Killswitch Engage, Ghost, Lamb of God and Machine Head, so the emphasis is firmly on heavy riffs, big choruses and familiar songs delivered in a live setting.

For Newcastle metal fans, the appeal here is the range packed into one night. Slipknowt head into the darker, more chaotic end of the spectrum, while Self Revolution switch the focus towards the melodic metalcore sound associated with Killswitch Engage. Ghost UK bring a different theatrical edge, Eleventh Hour take on Lamb of God’s groove-heavy catalogue, and Machine Heed round out the line-up with a set built around Machine Head.

That mix should keep the pace moving across the evening without every band feeling like a variation on the same idea. It also gives anyone who grew up around 2000s and 2010s metal a lot of ground to cover in one ticket, from metalcore and groove metal through to Slipknot’s more aggressive sound and Ghost’s cleaner, theatrical side.

Newcastle University Students’ Union is a strong fit for a show like this. The main live room has hosted plenty of heavier touring acts over the years, and the 5pm doors should give each tribute enough room to build a proper set rather than racing through a handful of songs.

The event is listed for ages 14+, with under 18s required to attend with an adult. With five bands on the bill, it is worth arriving close to doors if there is a particular act you do not want to miss.
