The Emerald Dawn Newcastle arrives with a new 2026 album
The Cluny 2 date lands just three months after The Emerald Dawn released The Land, the Sea, the Air (Volume II), giving the tour a genuinely current record at its centre. The album followed Volume I from 2025 and extends the band’s long-form approach to symphonic and eclectic progressive music.
The group’s sound is built from a wide palette rather than one narrow prog template. Tree Stewart moves between keyboards, piano, flute, acoustic guitar and vocals, while Ally Carter adds electric and acoustic guitars, saxophones, keyboards and vocals. David Greenaway handles bass and Tom Jackson drums, giving the band enough instrumental range to move between rock, jazz, folk, classical and more atmospheric sections without relying on backing tracks to create scale.
The Newcastle date also sits inside a run that takes the band from Crewe to Glasgow and Kinross before Cluny 2, followed immediately by Darlington and Leeds. That routing should mean the set is fully settled by the time they reach Ouseburn.
Candacraig are a strong fit for the bill rather than a token support. Sharon Cannings and Martin Nicholls combine vocals, keys, mandolin, guitar and cello, and their own progressive writing leans into cinematic arrangements and visual presentation. Their appearance gives the night two acts interested in texture, atmosphere and extended songwriting.
Cluny 2 should suit both bands. The room is intimate enough for the quieter instrumental detail to register, but it can still carry the heavier crescendos and fuller ensemble sections that define The Emerald Dawn’s live show.
