Venus Grrrls Newcastle brings a new EP back to the North East
The Cluny 2 show lands just 13 days after To Die as Lovers May arrives on 16 October, giving the Newcastle date some of the freshest material on the band’s current tour. The five-track EP follows 2026 singles including Eve, 3×3 and Mother Knows, extending the goth-grunge sound Venus Grrrls have spent several years sharpening.
The band’s own site describes Venus Grrrls as a Leeds/Newcastle rock coven, giving their Newcastle show a home-region connection. Lead singer GK is joined by guitarist Eliza Lee, bassist Hannah Barraclough and drummer Alannagh Doherty, with the group mixing heavy guitar lines, synth textures and a clear riot grrrl undercurrent.
That combination has already carried the band onto BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Radio X and Sirius XM, while their live schedule has continued expanding across the UK and Europe. Earlier in 2026 they also returned to the North East as support for Pale Waves at The Fire Station in Sunderland.
The current tour puts Newcastle between Glasgow on 28 October and Stockton’s Georgian Theatre on 30 October, before dates in Nottingham, Bristol, Cardiff, London, Liverpool and Leeds. That makes Cluny 2 part of a tightly routed run rather than an isolated regional booking.
The smaller Cluny room should suit the contrast in Venus Grrrls’ music particularly well. The heavier passages can hit with real physical weight, while the more atmospheric guitar and vocal sections should retain their detail because the audience remains close to the stage.
Venus Grrrls play Cluny 2 on Thursday 29 October 2026. Check Venus Grrrls and The Cluny’s official channels before travelling for the latest doors, support and admission information.
