CRANE HOUSE are a Newcastle five-piece whose music blends harmony-led pop-folk, alt-folk and dreamier alternative textures. Dual female vocals sit at the centre of the sound, with guitar, bass and fiddle giving the songs a warm acoustic core before the arrangements open into something fuller and more atmospheric.
The band draw influence from artists including The Staves, Laura Marling and Florence + The Machine, which comes through in the close harmonies, storytelling lyrics and balance between intimacy and scale. Songs including Shadow, Cuban Heel and Her show how CRANE HOUSE can move from delicate folk detail into richer, more cinematic passages without losing the song underneath.
Newcastle’s grassroots venues remain central to the band’s development, with recent dates including a Victoria Tunnel performance and a headline show at The Globe, followed by support for Jamiee Harris at Cluny 2. Those varied rooms suit a band whose music can work quietly and acoustically or expand into a much broader live sound.
