Crescent

Crescent are a four-piece band from Hartlepool bringing a strong 1970s influence into a modern North East progressive blues-rock sound. The line-up features Caleb Hay on vocals and guitar, Jake Beddow on vocals and bass, Millie Jones on vocals and keys, and Christian Tunney on drums.

Influences including The Groundhogs, Led Zeppelin, Jefferson Airplane and Gomez feed into blues-heavy guitar work, warmer keyboard textures and songs willing to stretch beyond simple verse-chorus structures. The result sits somewhere between classic rock, psychedelic blues and modern alternative music.

Hartlepool remains central to the band’s identity, while recent live activity has taken Crescent across Teesside and the wider North East, including Aelius Alternative Festival and Stockton Calling. Those appearances have helped move them onto larger regional bills without losing the character of the grassroots scene that shaped them.
