Harlan Frank & The Houseplants are an alternative project built around singer, guitarist and songwriter Harlan Frank, with a wider band setup that gives the material more weight and movement. The songs sit between indie rock, alternative songwriting and more reflective singer-songwriter territory, with enough flexibility to work both stripped back and with a full band.
The catalogue includes Me, You and Songs for Fear and tracks such as Guido Fever, Water, Fairytales and Maelstrom, while later Houseplants material including Little Ship and Bridge Out Of Town moves further towards a fuller alternative-band sound.
The project has appeared on North East bills including Aelius Alternative Festival and shows at The Globe in Newcastle. That gives Harlan Frank & The Houseplants a clear working connection to the regional grassroots scene, although the sources checked do not establish a reliable North East hometown or current base.
