Headcage

Headcage are a post-hardcore band formed in Newcastle upon Tyne, bringing together heavy modern guitar music with enough melody to keep the songs memorable. Their sound is built around dense riffs, sharp dynamic shifts and vocal lines that can move from vulnerable to forceful without losing the emotional centre.

Releases including side by side, gaslight, false gold, nothing, shrink, ruins and the under my skin EP established the band’s early identity, while newer tracks such as like glass, blackdog and deadstill have continued to refine the balance between melody and aggression.

Newcastle remains central to the band’s development, with Headcage growing through the North East grassroots circuit and festival appearances including Veritas. Their best material uses contrast rather than constant heaviness, allowing quieter sections to make the bigger moments hit harder.
