Shady Quid are a Newcastle rock band built around Geordie blues and straight-ahead rock ’n’ roll. Their music is direct and guitar-led, with the kind of unfussy energy that makes most sense in a live room.
The band draw on the spirit of classic rock without simply copying it, adding a clear North East character to familiar blues and rock foundations. That gives the songs a rough-edged, local feel while keeping the focus on riffs, momentum and the chemistry of the performance.
Shady Quid’s identity is closely tied to Newcastle’s grassroots circuit, where the band’s no-frills approach suits smaller venues and louder bills. Rather than overcomplicating the formula, they lean into the things that give rock ’n’ roll its immediate appeal: strong guitars, a solid groove and plenty of live energy.
