Solcade

Solcade are a North East five-piece whose music mixes psychedelic funk rock, swampy grooves and socially conscious songwriting. Their sound pulls from artists including The Doors, Talking Heads, The Black Keys and Sly and the Family Stone, but the result is less about imitation than finding a balance between rhythm, grit and psychedelic colour.

Debut single One More Domino introduced that groove-heavy approach, while the Dot to Dot EP pushed it further with a broader mix of funk, rock and atmospheric detail. The band’s recorded music captures plenty of movement, but the songs are clearly built with the stage in mind.

Solcade have played across the north of the UK while developing a strong live presence around Newcastle and the wider North East. Whether they are headlining or appearing lower down a busy bill, the focus stays on rhythm, energy and a slightly unruly psychedelic edge.
