That Clare is a Teesside singer-songwriter and producer whose music pulls together post-punk, synthwave, queercore and protest songwriting. Based in Middlesbrough, she writes with a directness that can be playful, confrontational or deeply personal, often setting sharp lyrics against electronic textures and punk energy.
Her 2026 album Social Konstrukt brings that approach together across tracks including Eat The Rich, Coders, Consciousness, Flowers & Rain and Just Because. Influences such as Laura Jane Grace, Blondie, Patti Smith and Depeche Mode can be heard in the mix of guitar attitude, synth-driven arrangements and outspoken writing.
That Clare also handles much of her own production, with recording work connected to studios in Redcar and Newcastle. Live appearances across Stockton, Newcastle and the wider North East keep the songs rooted in the regional scene that feeds much of their subject matter.
