The Fever Kings

The Fever Kings are a North East alternative-rock four-piece whose sound mixes the melodic pull of 2000s rock with heavier dynamics and a modern sense of scale. The band came together after the COVID lockdowns, with Jack Songer on guitar and vocals, Thomas Myerscough on keys and synths, Alex Brown on bass and Chris Gilks on drums.

Influences including Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, Jimmy Eat World and Lifehouse can be heard in the balance between softer passages and more anthemic peaks. Their debut EP Rise & Fall gave that approach a clearer shape, pairing emotionally direct writing with arrangements that know when to pull back before pushing forward again.

Newcastle remains an important part of the band’s story, with local dates including The Cluny and festival appearances such as Veritas. Their first UK tour also finished with a hometown headline show, underlining how closely the band’s wider ambitions remain tied to the region where the project took shape.
