The Resurgence

The Resurgence are a Newcastle upon Tyne pop-punk band formed in 2024, drawing on the fast, melodic side of punk while keeping a clear connection to the North East live scene. Their sound sits across pop punk, punk and skate punk, with enough energy to work in smaller grassroots rooms as well as bigger local support slots.

The band have built their early reputation through Newcastle and Gateshead appearances, including venues such as Little Buildings and Downcast Studios. Their live set combines original material with a clear affection for the wider pop-punk catalogue, giving the shows an immediate feel while the band continue developing their own songs.

A 2026 Northumbria Students’ Union date heading a four-band bill alongside Burnout, Type 72 and Kodiak marked another step up locally. The project is still young, but the foundations are already clear: a Newcastle base, regular gigs and a sound designed around movement, melody and live energy.
