Tim Gambles is a Tasmanian-born alternative rock artist now based in England, writing slow-building songs that put emotional weight ahead of unnecessary production. His music often starts from a simple piano or guitar idea before opening into something broader, leaving the vocal and lyric at the centre.
The single Today is a good example of that approach. Written years before its release, the song deals with the anxiety around making a major life decision and living with the consequences. Instrumentation was recorded with long-time bandmates in Tasmania before the vocals were completed in England at In Heart Studios with producer George Collings.
Gambles has also appeared on North East grassroots bills, giving him a genuine connection to the regional live circuit. That connection is through touring rather than origin, with his background rooted in Tasmania and his current base more broadly in England.
