HEATSEEKER at The Point Sunderland
Heatseeker bring heavy classic rock to The Point Sunderland on Friday 25 September. Event starts 7pm, with the band live at 8:45pm. Free entry.
Heatseeker arrive at The Point Sunderland on Friday 25 September with a set aimed squarely at the heavier end of classic rock. The five-piece are from North East England, and their musical territory runs through Ozzy, Free, Deep Purple, Whitesnake and Journey.
Table Of Content
This is not a broad pop covers slot with the occasional guitar song dropped in. The focus is on big riffs, strong vocals and 70s and 80s rock that works best when it is played by a full band at proper volume.
Heatseeker at The Point Sunderland
The event starts at 7pm, followed by Happy Hour from 7pm to 8pm. Heatseeker go live at 8:45pm and entry is free. That gives the evening a clear build, with enough time to arrive before the band begins rather than walking in halfway through the first song.
There is plenty of contrast inside the rock brief too. Free brings bluesier weight, Journey sits at the larger melodic end of the spectrum, while Deep Purple and Ozzy push things into harder territory. Whitesnake sits neatly between those points, so the set can move without losing its identity.
Friday night at the Live Lounge
The Point’s Live Lounge is in Sunderland city centre, close to Sunderland Station and Park Lane. For anyone travelling in, the 7pm event start means there is no need to rush straight to the stage; the band begins at 8:45pm.
Check The Point’s official Live Lounge listing before setting off for any last-minute changes. SoundBite North East also keeps the venue’s upcoming dates together on the The Point Sunderland page, alongside the wider Upcoming Gigs guide.
