Lowlights Festival Brings M60 to Digital Newcastle

Lowlights Festival at Digital Newcastle arrives on Saturday 5 December 2026 with Manchester indie band M60 at the top of the bill. The new event starts at 1pm, giving the Times Square venue an early start for a day built around emerging guitar music before Digital moves into its usual late-night territory.

M60 are a strong fit for that setup. The Greater Manchester four-piece have spent the last few years steadily moving into bigger rooms, combining direct indie-rock choruses with the sort of guitar-led sound that works best when a crowd can properly get involved. Their current line-up features Matthew Morton on vocals and guitar, Bradley Smith on drums, Max Phillips on bass and Owen Baldwin on lead guitar.

The Newcastle festival lands after a busy 2026 for M60. Their latest material includes Lemonade, while earlier tracks such as I Don’t Mind, Fade Away, Let Me Know and Darling have helped the band build a following well beyond Manchester. They have also developed a reputation for energetic headline shows, including sold-out dates in their home city.

Digital gives Lowlights a different feel from a standard evening gig. A 1pm start means there is room for a much broader day of music, while M60 provide a recognisable headline name without turning the event into another touring-band stop. More artists are due to form part of the festival, so there should be plenty around the headline set rather than a simple support-and-headliner format.

For Newcastle’s indie crowd, the timing is useful too. December calendars can quickly fill with tribute nights and Christmas events, so a new festival focused on current guitar music offers something different. M60’s melodic, crowd-friendly sound should work particularly well in Digital, where the main room can shift from a compact gig atmosphere into something much bigger once it fills.
